Title says it all, a new percussive guitar thing I’m currently working on.

Here’s my own arrangement of “Overjoyed” by Stevie Wonder. I’ve been working on it since January and it’s been quite hard figuring out all the chord changes etc. I also had to change the key as he plays it in Eb and I found it sounded better in E on the guitar.

I’m quite proud of this arrangement as I’ve never before attempted a Stevie Wonder song before. I’ve been a fan of his music all my life but he has a seriously advanced understanding of harmony and I’ve always found his tunes very hard to figure out as a result.

I was going to perform this at this years Harlington Festival but, as it has been canceled this year, I thought I’d upload a video instead.

I’m normally known for playing Funky / Soul kinda stuff but recently, I’ve got right into the http://www.candyrat.com artists. Especially the awesome Andy Mckee. This song was inspired by his awesome music and the unique techniques I’ve picked up from learning his songs.

First and foremost I’m a drummer but I play a few other instruments, mainly for my own enjoyment. To be honest, I wish I had the confidence I do on drums with other instruments but I also play Bass, Guitar and Keys. I’ve been working on songs like this for my solo Jazz, Soul, Funk and Gospel Project – The Cloud9 Mission. I may well add other instruments when the time comes to record this song.

Recording the bass line for my new solo tune – “Your Love”. This was just the first rough take but I had the camera rolling to critique my playing. As well as the bass part, I also played the other instruments on this recording too!
